Image, CTIA, Announce Mobile Imaging Perspectives at CTIA 2005
Seminar to Examine Challenges and Opportunities in the Camera-phone Ecosystem
SAN MATEO, Calif. – November 2,
2004 -- Future Image Inc, producers of the acclaimed Mobile Imaging Summit
executive conferences, and CTIA, the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet
Association – announced today that Future Image will produce and host a one day
seminar on Mobile Imaging at the CTIA WIRELESS 2005 event in New Orleans, LA.
March 14-16, 2005. The seminar, entitled Mobile Imaging Perspectives, will focus
on the opportunities and challenges emerging from the meteoric growth in sales
of camera-enabled cell phones.
“We are pleased to be working with Future Image, an organization that clearly
has its fingers on the pulse of this convergence of telecommunications and
imaging technologies, as exhibited by their highly successful Mobile Imaging
Summit conferences, and their exceptional record forecasting industry
developments,” said Robert B. Mesirow, CTIA Vice President of Operations. “We
look forward to having them bring their mobile imaging expertise to our CTIA
WIRELESS 2005 conference attendees.”
“CTIA is the preeminent wireless association and we are proud to have been
selected by them to participate in their CTIA WIRELESS 2005 conference,” said
Alexis Gerard, president of Future Image. “Their participation in our recent
Mobile Imaging Summit in Monterey as our Association Sponsor added a great deal
of validation to the significant role that wireless technology is now playing in
the imaging world. In fact, we have forecast that by 2005 camera-phones will
outsell all other cameras excluding single-use devices.”
Camera-phone sales have more than doubled every year since their introduction --
from fewer than a million in 2000 to 180 million this year. The increase last
year was 350 percent. Japanese consumers bought 40 million camera-phones in
2003, up from about two million in 2001. Early studies indicate that
camera-phone users take more than twice as many pictures as digital or film
camera users.
At the Mobile Imaging Perspectives seminar Future Image will draw on its
extensive research, and bring together a stellar lineup of industry leaders to
provide insights into the new opportunities this explosion in mobile image
capture is creating for Carriers, Wireless and Internet Service Providers,
Application Developers, System Integrators and Resellers; as well as the
challenges it raises for Technology Buyers and Enterprise End Users.
Future Image will also help coordinate a Wireless Imaging Pavilion on the show
floor. The Wireless Imaging Pavilion will provide the latest innovations in
wireless imaging technologies like Mobile Imaging Devices, Hardware and Software
Enabling Technologies, Mobile Imaging Content, Self and Service Printing
solutions, as well as non-Print solutions. If you are looking for the latest and
most exciting imaging technologies to provide to your customers – you can’t miss
this exhibit at CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2005. Contact Stephanie
